A boy named Owen who is really good at basketball wants to try out for his school basketball team, and his brother Russell who knows nothing about sports gets asked to try out because he is tall. Mack, and it is about two brothers trying to figure out their true identity. Mathlete is realistic fiction written by W.C. I also like this book because I’m into sports. I liked this book because sometimes I have a lot of conflict with why brother and sister and Evan and Russell did too. Evan gets so mad that he throws Russell’s shoes into the dumpster, but when his parents find out they make Evan go get the shoes that are covered in lunch food from school, everyone wonders if they will become good friends or not. Owen Evans, who is the athlete and thinks he’s better than everyone else that’s why he gets mad when his brother Russell the mathlete gets put on the basketball team and makes more shots then Evan.

This story is about two twin brothers who are way different. Another reason the book is good is that it shows you how your act to a brother or sister or friend. This book is great, because I like to play basketball and I like math. While on Russell’s hand, a new kid wants to change the Master of the Minds meeting schedule to Tuesdays and Fridays, because Russell has basketball practice on Tuesdays and games on Fridays. Owens feel jealous that his brother is taking his spot on the team. First, the new coach wants Russell Evans to tryout for the basketball team. Owen Evans is a basketball star and lives on the court while his brother, Russell Evans, is a mathematic and learning superstar. Mack, a realistic fiction book, is about two brothers that are different from each other.
